Teej marks the arrival of the monsoon in July or August. In Hisar, this is primarily a “festival of swings.”
- The Vibe: Swings (jhoolas) are hung from large trees in parks and courtyards. The air is filled with the scent of Ghevar (a traditional sweet).
- Tradition: Women wear green clothes, apply henna (mehndi), and sing traditional Haryanvi folk songs celebrating the rain and the bond of marriage.
