A major fire broke out on Friday evening near the Railway Power House in Hisar, involving a large stock of plastic pipes. The smoke could be seen from over 15 km away. Six fire engines, including those from Jindal Company and local fire stations, battled the blaze to prevent it from reaching the 132 KV power house, which supplies electricity to railways across a 50 km radius. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the power house remained safe.
