Recent reports highlight that the village has now produced over 530 national-level players, with 35 athletes securing government jobs under the sports quota this year. The transformation of a local graveyard into a football academy has become a symbol of sports-led social change in the district.

Hisar’s boxers continue to shine at the state level. In the Inter-College State Boxing Championship held recently, Sahil won a silver medal in the 60kg men’s category, while Neha secured a bronze medal in the women’s category, highlighting the strong combat sports culture at Dayanand College and other local institutions.

Rural Hisar remains a hotbed for live kabaddi action. Significant tournaments were held recently in villages like Chanot (Feb 13) and Rakhi Shahpur (Feb 15), drawing massive local crowds and featuring high-stakes matches that often award prizes like bikes or tractors to the best performers.

The Hisar Heroes have been a dominant force in the inaugural Kabaddi Champions League (KCL). Led by star raider Ashu Malik, the team officially secured a spot in the semi-finals earlier this month after a string of commanding wins. Their performance has solidified Hisar’s reputation as a powerhouse in the kabaddi circuit.

The Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is hosting its prestigious Dangal Championship on February 23, 2026, at the Giri Centre, CCS HAU, Hisar. For the first time, this event is opening up to national-level participation, bringing in top-tier senior wrestlers from across India to compete in Freestyle and Greco-Roman categories.
